So, this is the place~ The traveling shinobi thought to himself in a relaxed and carefree manner. He was quite happy to have reached his destination, and even happier to have done so without any altercations along the way. Whether or not one was considered 'invincible' -as Jacobus Rakan often was- it always seemed like there was someone out there who wanted to test their power by trying to do the impossible. Of course, Rakan didn't blame them...but he would consider it a grave insult to those individuals if he ever held back, especially if they wanted to see him at full strength. So long had this pattern gone on that Jack Rakan had made a name for himself without even trying. He was called by many names, most of them a homage to his awesome power. The Invincible Warrior, The Legendary Swordsman, The Fist of the Bijuu. These were only a few of the names used to refer to Jack Rakan, and today he had every intention of adding one more name to that list. He was determined to master the ultimate lightning release jutsu: Raiton Armor, along with all of its branch techniques.

For this purpose, he had -exactly one week ago- paid a visit to the bounty offices and taverns around the ninja world, simply to put out a message: "Training partner wanted. Puppet-users only, for your own safety~" This message had been verbally passed from inebriated shinobi to loan sharks and free-lancers the world over by now. News traveled fast in the ninja world, though Rakan was careful to not include his own name in that message. He had finally been contacted, and told that someone had accepted his request: a puppet user had agreed to help him practice. Rakan had been told he only had one day of her time, however, so the laid-back warrior -in a totally out of character fashion- actually arrived early to the battle ground.

I doubt she could have picked a better place. Rakan thought vaingloriously to himself. Though, he wasn't exactly wrong. The meeting place -decided by the client...well, volunteer- had been the inside of Fuyu Kuudo. Rakan had no need for mythologies and rumors about some powerful demon or another...so, he had hastily accepted her location...not that he had a way to decline, or to change the meeting place. Rakan noted the dim light which filtered into the center cavern via a large hole in the roof. He quickly closed his eyes and subtly sniffed the stagnant air within the large space. His serious expression broke out into a large, ear-to-ear grin, and he called out into the darkness.

"Alright, don'tcha think you've hidden long enough? I'm not looking for a serious brawl here, girly. I'm just wanting to practice a little something, and it wouldn't be safe to use against another human. So, the first move is yours. I'm ready!" Rakan stated profoundly, fearless as ever of even what lurked within the darkness of the cavern.

The Thunder God Awakens [Folgers and Hina] Empty Re: The Thunder God Awakens [Folgers and Hina]

Her rain had followed her everywhere, even here. She was loving the fact that she could feel everything the rain touched. Before the opponent had arrived in the chasm she had the chance to feel him. A beast of a man she was unsure of what exactly he had, just that he would be intresting. She stayed out of the light, her umbrella was closed at this point not having any need under the protection of the cave, but still containing a blade. She watched the man from her spot in the shadows. What intrigued her was his actions.

He closed his eyes and sniffed the air. His face twisted into a large grin and he called her out.

"Alright, don'tcha think you've hidden long enough? I'm not looking for a serious brawl here, girly. I'm just wanting to practice a little something, and it wouldn't be safe to use against another human. So, the first move is yours. I'm ready!"

Intresting... He had yet again intrigued her. First with his prescence and now with his sense of smell.

"How did you detect me? Your sense of smell... I've never seen one so acute before." Hina habitually shrugged to herself. During the time that she accepted the request and now she had developed a puppet exclusively for this occasion. It was simply constructed to withstand large amounts of damage and to easily disassemble and reassemble. She summoned it with a puff of smoke and attached Chakra strings to it. She threw it at the man and the puppet made a fist as to strike the man.

As the girl questioned him about his sense of smell, he simply smirked to himself. He had no intentions of answering her, if only for the simple fact that not doing so left quite a few possibilities to the imagination. Rakan did, however, intend to at least acknowledge her question, if only out of some sense of duty, since she had come all this way. Rakan put his hands on his hips and let out a hearty laugh, the rain beginning to soak his hair, and causing his chiseled muscles to glisten with a wet sheen.

"Trade secret, girly!" Rakan informed her, glad to see that the girl was finally readying herself to make the first move. He removed his hands from his hips and brought both arms to a readied stance as the puppet drew ever closer. Rakan then threw down his arms and gave out a mighty yell. Instantly, the air around him exploded and a crackling aura of electricity circulated around his entire body. He focused his gaze upon the puppet, whom was almost within arms reach. He could feel the augmenting effects of his raiton armor, and he offered a content, self-confident smirk. As the puppet drew within arm's reach, Rakan disappeared from view as a blur.

Then, without warning, that same blur came back into focus behind the puppet. As Rakan seemed to re-materialize, his monstrous left fist came flying with a powerful backhand. Assuming this blow struck with its abnormal speed and raw power, it would likely be enough to blow the head of this puppet into many pieces, and possibly reveal a few wayward mechanisms. Rakan moved like the lightning itself, and even the invincible warrior could feel a considerable boost in his speed and reflexes. His legs were shoulder width apart and his midsection finished turning as he realigned his body, likely crashing his meaty fist into the back or side of the puppet's head.

"This is Raiton Armor! The newest trump card of Jack Rakan, the Lightning God!" He bellowed proudly and without shame, turning his head slightly to the left so he could regard both puppet and puppet master.

"Trade secret, girly!"

Hina frowned at the statement, but his silly attitude had once again peaked her intrest. She figured the brute might be useful, perhaps she could use him? She returned to the present only to watch him activate a flashy armor. She was almost taken a back by it, but he teleported behind the doll and threw a fist. He had such incredible speed that she barely had time to dislodge the head. To no avail of course. The man hit the head so hard that it flew forward and shattered like glass against the nearby wall. Fast and Strong? She liked him.

"This is Raiton Armor! The newest trump card of Jack Rakan, the Lightning God!" Jack Rakan? She recognized that name. He wasn't that Rakan was he? Hina smiled, yes she liked him very much.

"Well then Rakan, you can call me Hina." She said responding to his own announcement. Continuing with the battle the puppets body twisted around the throw a quick kick at Jack's chest. How would his fancy armor hold up to her Puppet?

The Thunder God Awakens [Folgers and Hina] Empty Re: The Thunder God Awakens [Folgers and Hina]

"Well then Rakan, you can call me Hina." The puppetmaster informed him cordially, revealing that she was at least polite enough to introduce herself, even if she was a woman of disappointingly few words.

Rakan had come to a stop behind the puppet, but he had been facing Hina. This meant that his back was to the puppet, though he had remained on guard simply by turning his head slightly to the left. This profile view had allowed him to keep an eye on both enemies at once, though he kept in mind that he was only actively engaging one of the two targets. So, since he was technically "facing" Hina, the puppet's kick would not even come close to his chest. Rather, as the puppet turned and launched its attack, Rakan's back would be the mark. Rakan, however -despite still utilizing Raiton Armor and the enhanced reflexes that came with it- had already decided that he would take a direct hit from the puppet's next attack, just to see how the legendary armor held up.

Rakan never actually felt the puppet's foot impact into his back, but the puppet had raised one leg and left it slightly lifted, as if it had kicked him. Even an imbecile like Jack Rakan understood the situation: the puppet had landed a direct hit, but the raiton armor hadn't so much as cracked. The armor still crackled, though, with its usual electric hum. Rakan decided quickly that now would be an opportune time to test out the second of three abilities he was training for. He had succeeded in establishing and maintaining raiton armor with no trouble. And -luckily for Rakan- the puppet had remained in close range, even after its head had -in a futile gesture- tried to eject. With the puppet's foot against the raiton armor covering his sculpted back, Rakan began his counter attack.

In a blindingly fast blur, Rakan had performed an about face motion, and ensnared the hapless training dummy's offending leg with one huge hand. Rakan's left hand now tightly gripped the leg, but he wasn't done yet...with the speed given to him by raiton armor, he sprang into action before most enemies would have even perceived he had seized the target's leg. Rakan thrust out his right arm and placed his palm flat against the dummy's chest. Then, with a mere surge of chakra, his right arm became a cannon. A barrage of electric bullets were released at point blank range, right against the puppet's torso. Assuming the puppet somehow didn't dodge -a feat that was rendered easier said than done thanks to his armor- then it would find several large chunks of its torso missing.

Just as the barrage of bullets ended, Rakan lifted his left leg straight in front of him, unbent his knee, and thrust out a huge, boot-clad foot into what would remain -assuming the puppet had taken the brunt of the barrage of bullets- chest.

"Spartan Kick!" Rakan bellowed heartily, likely sending the potentially ruined dummy flying across the chasm they were in.

The Thunder God Awakens [Folgers and Hina] Empty Re: The Thunder God Awakens [Folgers and Hina]

Post by Hina Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:17 pm

Hina was taken aback by the fact that her puppet merely bounced off Rakan, but at the same time she expected it. She had heard many rumors of the famous Ninja's abilities, he might be a grand asset. Hina let her mind ponder the uses of being teamed up with Rakan, but she was ripped away from this as he preformed yet another techneiqe.

Slamming his hand onto the puppets chest he fired off a series of bullets made of what Hina assumed to be Raiton based purely on their bright color. The puppet seemed to steadily take on the appearance of swiss cheese, neat chunks being ripped out. Hina tried to pull the puppet away, but the sheer force of the barrage kept the doll in place. It wasn't until he was finished that she got a good look at it. Neat circles left the torso in shambles, but it was his next move that left the dummy nearly destroyed.

"Spartan Kick!" He roared with a manly tone. He thrust his leg forward in what would normal throw the puppet back. However the remainder of the hollow chest just collapsed inward revealing the sturdy frame that once held it in place. Hina pulled the puppet back, the torso completely missing from it. She was sure that the doll would only sustain a few more hits before being reduced to junk, or in Rakan's case, a decent sneeze.

"How about you travel with me after we are finished here? I could use the company of a man, you know?" Hina said teasingly to the burly man.
