The request system.
It has come to my attention that our request system could use some minor tweaking, I have been shot down multiple times by different staff members. I've tried to do a "If your free approve it" system with them, They said no so then I offered another solution such as two request days, one on Wednesday and another on Sunday to help with the request load and to make it much more enjoyable here for us. We can get our request approved faster and go along our merry way, from what I have heard it is nothing more than they don't want to be nagged. They also apparently don't want chuunin exams as another problem to which we could fix with localized chuunin exams not holding up the site so each village can have their genin become chuunin much faster instead of only having two more chuunin out of the entire site.
Of course I do not see as to why I keep getting denied even a maybe from them, I find this unfair on two accounts. The first it is their job to make this site more enjoyable for everyone so all suggestions they should at least take into consideration. The second is that they were unwilling to even give me a reason in the first place being uncooperative which then leads to the first account of not doing their job. Honestly people can sling mud saying how I am doing this merely for myself to which I would say yes. I am doing this for myself, however I am doing this for myself as a member of this forum. This will happen again where someone will barely miss the deadline forcing all their work to go in vain until next week. This is a minor change and won't do anything to harm us in anyway shape or form. I do not see why we can't have this small change, hell the way the staff is acting over this we might as well have Enma back in charge. That is harsh yes but we need someone who is willing to at least take suggestions as these into consideration.
I respect the staff and I trust them however this is something so simplistic I don't see as to why we would have to argue to the point where I would have to here to discuss it. We all have been reasonable in the past however I am know curious as to what happen to our sanity. The system is a lot better than Enma's however it is still far from perfect, I'll be the first to admit I might just be stepping over my boundaries but this is why we have three admins. To be democratic, To have the people get a say without having one ruler screaming no at someone all day. Now that I've gotten that out of the way i'd like to present my suggestions to that the other people on the site can see them.
"Approve when your free" System is an easy system, if you see an admin in the chat box chewing the fat you can easily ask them to approve said request, however if they aren't chewing the fat and are discussing something important or rather posting don't bother them. They can get around to it later and still they will be able to get it done faster than a week. Onto the next system.
"Add one more approval day" System is alot like our system except we have to deadlines we can meet in a week instead of only one. Allowing us to make a deadline in case we missed the first. I don't see how this one is flawed at all but i am told it makes them rank up fast, which it doesn't. All it does that it gets request approved a lot more frequently. I don't think it does anything other than helping our site with activity.
"Get a moderator to do it" System is alloott easier. Get a mod whom's only job is to approve request, it would take the load off the admins so they can not have people nagging them all the time and it gets the request approved. I'd volunteer however i won't since that seems like i am trying to get a position of power. This mod would be trusted by the admins to approve request and handle them properly. I'd volunteer Plantsage as he is a trustworthy person from experience and he has also be a mod/admin on multiple sites with most of the admins.
Those were my suggestions, they seem reasonable correct? Well apparently not to the admins. I'd like to hear if anyone else agrees that these systems would be better than the current wait a week system we have. If so then maybe we could get the staff to pick the an option that everyone is okay with. I was hoping to settle this peacefully in the chatbox but they drove me to come here and voice my opinion. If you agree speak up and we can change this system to help make our experience here much more enjoyable. Now that I've said all that needs to be said, I'll wait for the members of this site to come and voice their opinion on this matter. The ball is now in your court.
-Sincerely yours,
Kiseki

Re: The request system.
While I'm in agreement that waiting a week royaly sucks, there are some flaws.
Your "Get to it when you can" System is absolutely out of the question. You say that people should wait, but we all know that most are impatient pricks who will spend their day nagging at admins to approve. I personally loathe the idea.
"Add an extra day". While this seems to be the most convent, it is actually the least of such. With the above option the admins get frustrated, but with this they are pressed for time. Adding a day in the middle of the week ment for approving one of the future most busiest areas is not good. I'm sure they don't want to come home from school, work, or in Starly's case somewhere over the rainbow, to a mountain of applications that have to be thoroughly reviewed and approved. And most would probably need to go through more than one admin!
And finally, your "Push it off on someone else, I don't give a damn" system runs the risk of lazy mod work, plus some request still most go through multiple people and it would be pointless to add a mod in such a case. You then also put that mod under the preassure of the "do it when you can" system ad the nagging of not only the members but the admin as well..
Kiseki, you must also look at issues as if you were the admin and were deciding what is best. Yes the site is for the people, but the admin want to have fun too. They don't build up a site just so they can be stressed because 30 request came in today and they have homework to do. So, all in all, I disagree whole heartidly on this matter. Frankly it sucks, but it is the price you pay to advance your character. Really? What is a few days of waiting?
Sincerely,
Plantsage

Re: The request system.
First and foremost, you completely misunderstood that snide remark I made about chunin exams. That was a massively sarcastic response. Now you will understand how ranks work on this site and why we can't just let people request willy nilly whenever they please.
Rank Requirements. The way you rank up on this site with MP, or Mission Points. You get these from performing missions and having them reviewed by the admins for approval. When they are approved you gain the MP based on the rank of mission it was. It takes 20 MP to rank up to Chunin and 50 MP to rank up to Jounin. Simple enough.
The reason we can't have people getting all of their requests approved anytime is that every genin would be chunin in two days. Don't give me any of the Enma bullshit either, you're on thin ice for pestering me for two days and insulting me while trying whine your way into getting things. NNL had Chunin Exams that only happened once a year real time if you're lucky. Waiting three weeks is nothing. It gives you time to actually develop some form of story for your character instead of being a silent, nameless workaholic that ranked up in no time.
The reason we can't have it two days a week is the exact same reason. You would rank up in a week and a half. I personally find that far to quick to just rank up. Again waiting three weeks is nothing. Go post a story with some other genin or something in the meantime so you can make some friends.
Now your reasoning for wanting this is because you missed Saturday's deadline because the request section wasn't complete until Sunday. Your first line of complaining broke some of the Dont's in the section and added more to the list. One of which was, if you miss the deadline don't whine about it to the admins. Your request was just to get more JP because you took your bounty as training. After you got your JP then what? Would you have done a request for Kinjutsu? Anything else? Not really, as a higher rank you really don't have much to request. That's the case with everyone. If requests were fulfilled people would flock to the section, get three or four requests done back to back, and do nothing for a few weeks. This forces you to spread it out taking longer to get everything you want. Similar to an RPG, if you could just get all your spells, stats, and weapons after leaving your hometown, would there be any point in playing to the final boss? Plus when it comes to Kinjutsu, waiting a week gives you better chances. If you continually request Kinjutsu groups request after request you will get declined a lot, and at least if you do it with a week in between each it'll be just a bit easier on you.
My verdict as Admin is a 100% Negative. If we adopted any system we would increase the amount of missions required to rank up thus forcing you to type up double or triple the amount of missions required to go up. Suddenly that becomes to much work and people don't bother. So no, this would break the forum just so you could get your JP a few days sooner. Be patient Kiseki, AND STOP CALLING ME ENMA ALL THE TIME YOU SNOWFLAKE!!!
